There are approximately 19.5 million refugees worldwide, displaced by war, natural disaster, persecution, and other catastrophes. Refugees often flee to nearby countries for refuge. Neighboring countries host a disproportionate share of the world’s refugees, and yet often do not have the means to offer enough support. Local organizations in these neighboring countries provide critical, life-saving services to meet the needs of refugees. Local organizations are best positioned to partner directly with refugees to help identify their needs and create empowering solutions. Yet many of these critical organizations struggle to connect to global donors and raise funds and resources necessary to help refugees thrive.
